Nowhere else in Florida looks like St. Augustine. Four-hundred-year-old walls at the Castillo de San Marcos, gas-lit cobblestone lanes, coquina stone that glows at golden hour — the nation's oldest city is a portrait backdrop you can't build. It's our favorite place to shoot engagements, and couples travel from across the state for it.
The trick to St. Augustine is timing, and that's where hiring locals pays off. We know when the historic district is quiet, which lanes catch morning light, and how to route a session from the old city gates to the bayfront without fighting the crowds. Add a second location and we can finish on the beach — Anastasia Island and Vilano Beach are minutes away, with driftwood and coquina rock formations you won't find further south.
For weddings, St. Augustine punches far above its size: historic chapels, rooftop venues over the bay, and oceanfront ceremonies. Sunrise-facing beaches mean day-after or morning sessions here are genuinely special — soft pastel skies over the Atlantic that Gulf coast towns never see.
