Golden Hour Engagement in St. Augustine
Some sessions plan themselves. When a couple tells us they got engaged on their first trip to St. Augustine, there's really only one answer for where to shoot the engagement session — back where it started, an hour before sunset, when the coquina walls of the old city start to glow.
We began at the city gates and wandered south: cobblestone lanes, gas lamps flickering on, a stop under the bougainvillea that spills over Aviles Street. St. Augustine rewards walking sessions. Instead of holding one pose in one spot, we moved like tourists holding hands — and the photos feel like a date, because it was one.
The last twenty minutes belonged to the bayfront. Golden hour on the water, sailboats behind them, and that soft pink Atlantic afterglow the east coast does better than anywhere. If you take one tip from this post: build your St. Augustine session to end near the water. The old city gives you texture; the bay gives you the finale.
